2011 Programme Saturday 12 February 2011 saw 100 ladies plus helpers pouring into the Village Hall at the Weyhill Fairground to take part in the annual Quilters Day at the Fairground. The mystery workshop devised by Jenny Rundle had everyone cutting and sewing felt into a heart shape decorated with flowers and leaves and neatly stuffed into a 3-d shape. The recipe for the Orange and Marzipan Cakes is on our LINKS page.
Creative Quilting from Hampton Court was our trader this year and it was no effort at all to part with money and buy more fabric (as well as buttons, magazines, notions etc) !
In the exhibition gallery of the Fairground we had a small show of quilts sent in for A Gift of Quilts, the Olympic project for 2012. Wonderfully colourful and attracting a lot of interest from the visiting quilters and members of the public visiting the cafe and craft centre.
